Hmmm.. "what is this?" I hear you ask...
"I thought Noble only did this every 2nd year".. you are thinking..
and officially you would be correct..
except...
2016 will be unofficial..
Just a bunch of people staying at my place, no rosters, no schedules.. just trying to get a lump of blue and white aluminium around the planet..
I have had expressions of interest from 2 people asking if I was doing it again this year..
So.. we kind of said.. why not..
This time though, all the pressure is off..
We'll try and do every flight, but it won't matter if we don't.
If you want a flight.. hop in the sim and just do it..
There might be 1 person flying, there might be 2 people.. or there could be a despatch as well..
you might even swap 1/2 way during a flight..
as I said, no pressure, no rosters, we might broadcast, we might not..
If you are interested.. even if only for a couple of days.. let me know..
oh.. the last thing..
the "hand flying below 10,000ft.. still stands!"

Re: WorldFlight 2016
Hello Guys..
Well this idea came out of no-where. We generally participate in Worldflight every 2 years, formally at least..
But I had such keen interest.. within 3 days we have 7 of us..

I know a couple are still to confirm.. but they have been included in the mailouts.
Very different this year from WorldFlight2015 though…
This will be an informal event…
No set rosters for 3 crew members like we did in 2015..
More of a social event..
A roster will exist, but only for the Captains seat..
The First Officer and Despatch will be by whoever wants it at the time.. or more likely.. who is awake at the time..
There have been some changes to the sim..
Upgraded to P3Dv3.2 (currently).. and Prosim 1.46 with some cool new features..
No more printing of Flightplans and loadsheets..
We plan the flight in PFPX and send to Topcat (as we did before).. but when we get in the sim.. we can data request the route from PFPX directly through the FMC..
We also data request the Loadsheet directly from Topcat via the FMC.. the flightplan is automatically loaded when you accept the plan as being correct.
We also get all the Takeoff Calculations directly through the FMC from Topcat as well, such as Ideal Flaps settings, N1 settings, Derated Takeoff Profile 1 or 2 (or normal), better calculated V-speeds etc..
All the weights, speeds, takeoff data is entered into 1 FMC.. from the data displayed on the 2nd FMC.
So both pilots are very busy now programming the FMC(s)..
and of course my favourite…
Hand-flying below 10,000ft still applies.
Now the dates for the event are:
Depart Sydney: November 6 (in the AM) Adelaide Local Time
Arrive Sydney: November 12 (in the PM) Adelaide Local Time
So make your travel arrangements around those dates.
As normal the Callsign will be NBL001 (Noble1).. during the event..
and we will live TV broadcasting as usual..
We have been asked by Terry Scanlon (Director of WorldFlight) if we would like to be part of the official WorldFlight team.. and raise money for the RFDS (Royal Flying Doctor Service), with all donations being handled directly by their website.
I have not offered a response at this time.
Accomodation is still to be worked out, but I promise.. no broken camp beds this year..

Re: WorldFlight 2016
So Worldflight2016 is only 1 week away.
This time next Sunday, we will be departing to Queenstown from Sydney on Leg 1.
We have a small crew this time..
Ray, Brad, Myself and Norbert joining us later in the week.
We also have 2 friends of mine to help out.. (Matt and John) who have been in training on Monday Nights at my place.
Due to the small crew, we may not complete every flight, but we will endeavor to do as many as we can.
We will also broadcast as many as we can during the week on NobleTV.
{link on main website} http://www.nobleair.net/node/59
The PDF version of the flight schedule can be found here: http://www.nobleair.net/library/manuals ... ht2016.pdf
We hope as many of you can join us on this epic journey..
There is no better chance to show the Vatsim community that Noble is a player, and Worldflight can inspire new members by having multiple aircraft on each leg.
Our callsign during Worldflight will (as usual) be NBL001 - pronounced.. 'Noble-One'

Re: WorldFlight 2016
Just want to wish the guys who are flying in world flight 2016 under Noble 01 all the best for the next week. You guys are going to be very busy since there are only 6 of you all up. I will hopefully fly some of the legs with you and hopefully some of the other Noble members may do the same or may even fly some of the legs when you guys are unable to.
All the best and hopefully I will make it for next year.

Re: WorldFlight 2016
Been watching all I can on Noble TV. I've seen Ray and Brad the most. I flew a couple of routes in the US. I flew the KSEA to PAJN and KMIA to MDSD route. Unfortunately I didn't fly on the VATSIM network because I was afraid that with all of the traffic my frame rates would be almost "0".

Re: WorldFlight 2016
Looking good you guys and you must be getting knackered by now. I have been flying all the flights with you up till around 12 midnight and then from 7.30am on. I am unable to fly online as when I was leaving Dunedin everything started freezing up so had to pull the plug on vatsim. After the world flight I think it will be time for a rebuild.
Have been following simfest uk online as well and they are a bunch of very merry fellas. They have raised about 11000 pound so far.
I hope to be there with you at the end as well all going well.

Re: WorldFlight 2016
Hi Guys,
Watching when I can and it looks good. Just saw the landing at Natal, brings back happy memories. Is there any way we can speak to you when you are flying. E.g. can you connect to TS. Most times I have been on there has been no-one on TS, but probably just the wrong time for most of you.
